For my midterm proposal, I wanted to explore more blessed content creation. More specifically, I'm looking to create very surreal, dreamlike environments that evoke a sense of wanderlust within the viewer. Since I've only been using Cinema4D for 3D work, I wanted to try out some other modeling tools that I had at my disposal. Because I have the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, I've been keeping an eye on Adobe Dimension (which is a relatively new 3D software). Although I'm well aware that Dimension is mainly for quick prototyping and product design, I'm really curious as to how the interface is and if I could possibly incorporate aspects of Dimension into my current modeling workflow. I've been very satisfied with Adobe products, and am looking forward to testing out Dimension as well.
In terms of inspiration, I've always admired the works of Jungho Lee, a Korean illustrator that creates work in the realm of the surreal. Here are some snippets of his work, as well as the link to his website:
I absolutely adore his use of color and tones, as well as the extremely innovative content. Looking at his work really makes me feel as if I'm dreaming, and it is very peaceful and soothing. I hope to be able to create some pieces in 3D that will be able to evoke the same emotions in my audience.
Ultimately, my final project will culminate in a series of 3D works created with the use of Dimension (for environment setup), Cinema4D (for asset tweaking), and Photoshop/Lightroom (post-processing).
