For this week's machine learning exploration, I stumbled upon a free online StyleGAN tool called deepart.io (https://deepart.io) which allows users to input an image of their choice, select a corresponding image that they would like to imprint the style of, and then generate an output image from the two inputs. To experiment, I decided to gather a few images of some childhood cartoons, and see what they would look like as Picasso paintings:
It was definitely interesting to see the results. Experimenting with art style transferring really makes me wonder if artists will eventually be able to sell their 'styles' along with their artwork pieces. It would be interesting if in the future, you could purchase a variation of an artist's style, and then apply it to your own work (although this would raise a lot of copyright issues).
