This week, for 3D exploration, I wanted to experiment with digital clay sculpting. Although I come from a 3D background, I've almost exclusively used software such as Maya and C4D, which are less sculpting oriented like Zbrush. I used the webGL version of Nomad, called sculptGL, which can be found at this link:
I just wanted to try out some basic clay manipulation, and ended up creating some cursed content.
I found the clay sculpting very intuitive to use, and I would expect it to be even more fluid on devices such as the iPad, which utilizes the Apple Pen. I also felt that I had more averse reactions to the models that seemed more 'human' than cartoonish, and the fact that the material of the clay was set to 'skin' also added to the unnerving effect.
