This week, Yona and I were tasked with creating a 30-60 second sound composition (no visuals). We both decided to utilize the sound.recorder feature of the p5 sound library, since we thought that it would be nice to have some form of user interaction with the piece itself. In regards to the type of sounds we wanted, we didn't really have anything specific in mind when we were planning it out. We decided to create the base elements first (drums, etc), and see what we could build from there. We cycled through randomized drum beats, and Yona also added harp sounds to complement them. When put together, it sounded like a ritual was being performed, due to the combination of heavy drums and the dreamlike tinkling of the harp. Then, we decided to include some chanting in the background as well, to further emphasize this experimental, ritualistic-style composition. The sounds are activated through mouseClick, and the user is able to record certain sounds or fragments of the built in sounds by pressing a random key on the keyboard.

If Yona and I were to describe our composition in 5-10 words, it would probably be:
The sounds of tiny extraterrestrials performing an annual ritual custom.
